JW Fiji was created by designer Jadeine Whiteside in 2013. JW Fiji’s brand is dedicated to the unique Fijian culture clothing women and men of every age in modern day attire.

JW Fiji has meticulously designed every fabric to stand out amongst the mass and every garment has been crafted elegantly to make one feel special.

Jadeine Whiteside is a keen traveler and her designs incorporate the wonders of Asia and the serene beauty of the islands in the South Pacific, combines.  Her use of elements that are descriptive of the South Pacific like the kaleidoscopic colours of the coral, the different blues of the oceans, the richness of its forests, flora and fauna are depicted in her prints to attract that innovative, bold and sassy modern woman daring to be noticed.  JW dares to bring about a new culture of clothing – portraying a message of importance to the world.

Background Established on the runways of Fiji Fashion Week 2009, the company’s brand has remained true to its aesthetics in fashion design and sustainable product adaptation reflecting UN SDG’s #1-Eradication of Poverty by providing employment to women in squatter settlements, making them financially independent to make wise choices- SDG#5-Gender Equality, #12 on Sustainable Consumption & Production. 

Handcrafted Island Essentials Boutique is the epitome of craftsmanship and cultural beauty inspired by the enchanting Fiji Islands. Sonam Sapra, the owner and designer, is a highly regarded, expert textile designer from Fiji who found her beginnings as a student of Parsons, the New School for Design in New York.

Sonam has since launched a textile design business committed to promoting Fiji’s Vanua (land and people) and culture, employing fashion as her vehicle. Her hand-drawn and digitally printed fabrics are showcased as raw fabric and resort-wear fashion pieces in her boutique at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, Denarau Island.

Her designs are exclusive prints and digitally printed designs on silk cotton, organic cotton fabrics, and retail resort/relax wear for international customers visiting Fiji. She also designs sustainable kids’ clothes and fashion accessories from her wearable art fabric offcuts.
