A Cabinet minister has said that Fiji should produce ginger beer in efforts to utilise the growing number of local harvests around the country.
Trade minister, Manoa Kamikamica has called on investors and companies to invest in producing ginger beer, in light of heightened international market demand.
The move would incentivise a good number of ginger farmers who are unable to secure a steady market.
The global ginger beer market is valued at a staggering $9 billion in 2021, and is projected to reach over $19 billion by 2030, research suggests.
