Fiji Trade Commission Promotes Business Opportunities at NZ Business Awards

 

The Fiji Trade Commission to New Zealand was proud to be a key sponsor at the 11thAnnual Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards held in Auckland on 26 November 2018 sponsoring the Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Guests of honour at the prestigious event included the New Zealand Prime Minister Rt Hon. Jacinda Ardern, Leader of the Opposition Hon. Simon Bridges, High Commissioner to Fiji H.E. Jonathan Curr, Fiji Consul General and Trade Commissioner to Australia and New Zealand Mr Zarak Khan and over 30 Members of the New Zealand Parliament.

 

On behalf of the Fiji Trade Commission, the Consul General and Trade Commissioner Mr Zarak Khan presented the award to the winner Mr Haseeb Ashraf from Legal Associates.

 

Legal Associates also won the Supreme Business of the Year Award which was presented by the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.

 

The event provided an opportunity for Fiji to promote Fijian Made products and encourage Award recipients to visit Fiji and share their insights and experiences to support entrepreneurship in Fiji as well as Fijian Government initiatives such as the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES).

 

The Fiji Trade Commission exhibited at the event to demonstrate to Kiwis the high quality of products that are manufactured in Fiji including several brands under the Fijian Made banner. Fijian products including from Fiji Spice Queen, Bula Coffee and Fiji Coffee. Fiji Water, Pure Fiji, and Cacao Fiji, a premium chocolate brand, were given to guests to sample.

 

Approximately 800 guests attended the gala Awards dinner and were able to get a taste of high quality Fijian products and receive information about trade and investment opportunities in Fiji.
