On Friday, May 24, the Fiji High Commission to Australia in Canberra, in collaboration with the Fiji Consulate General & Trade Commission – Australia & New Zealand, hosted a highly anticipated rum-tasting event featuring RATU and BATI flavours. The event was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, members of the diplomatic corps, and members of the Fijian diaspora, showcasing Fiji’s award-winning rums.

Supported by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, the exclusive distributor for Rum Co of Fiji in Australia, the event highlighted the unique qualities of Fijian rum. Made 4,000 km from the nearest industrial city, Fiji’s rum combines pure natural rainfall, rich volcanic soil, hand-cut sugar cane, a wood-fired furnace, and small oak barrels to create an exceptional product.

The event demonstrated Fiji’s potential to produce premium, internationally marketable products. Fijian rums are now available at Dan Murphy’s, First Choice Liquor stores nationwide, and through online delivery services like BoozeBud.

A special thanks to His Excellency Ajay Bhai Amrit, Fiji’s High Commissioner to Australia, for his vision and commitment to hosting this event.

Fiji Rum, undeniably one of the best in the world, has recently clinched an impressive 12 medals in 12 European competitions, solidifying its reputation as a global leader in rum production.
